Restore your deepest sleep.

Sleep is the regenerative foundation that supports everything else we do. When we have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting solid, restful sleep, it negatively ripples through the rest of our waking life, leaving us depleted and unable to meet our challenges. We know good sleep is so incredibly necessary, but getting there from activity to rest doesn’t always come easily.

Sleep uses sophisticated bioacoustic techniques to organically restore that deep, restful repose. Music, not drugs, gently lulls the mind and body to beautifully restorative sleep. A psychoacoustically-refined Adagio movement from Mahler’s extraordinarily sweet and calming Fourth Symphony delicately unwinds into a soothing sound bed of slow lapping ocean waves. Sweet and simple melodies float in and out in lulling rubatos. Sleep is a tranquil cradle of sound in which to find rest and renewal.

Sink easy into deep sleep.

The breakthrough research behind Through a Dog’s Ear shows that the mammalian nervous system is extremely sensitive to sound — and that special arrangements of classical music have a profound soothing impact on anxious beings. We created this music for human health, as well as your discerning ear.

The human body–and all bodies–are made up of natural frequencies. Our heartbeats, brain waves, neural pulses, etc., all operate on a rhythm controlled by the brain. When we’re agitated, stressed, or really active, our system is operating on a fast, active wavelength. Sleep, however, is found at a slower, calm frequency, and thus bridging the gap between the two states when we’re ready to go rest is often difficult. Music is one tool we can use to “entrain” or lull the body into finding its own slower rhythm. Through auditorally absorbing a musical frequency, akin to that of sleep, the brain understands it’s time to rest.

The architecture of Sleep is designed to slowly bring the listener down into lower heart rate and brainwave states and leave them there for a good night’s sleep. The tempos and orchestral densities do not bring the listener back up to normal waking states. This is left for the body’s natural function. Ocean sounds have been used in this track for both masking of external noise, but also for the entrainment effect (our primary pulses speed up or slow down to match an external periodic rhythm). Sleep features a chamber ensemble with woodwinds (flute, clarinet, oboe) and string section (violin, viola, cello, and bass).

I’m sleeping soundly again! I love this music! I was struggling with anxiety and restless nights as I am working full time and going to school full time and couldn’t seem to quiet my mind at bed time. The soothing flute sounds and ocean noise have all helped tremendously. I’m getting the best sleep since I can remember.

—Frankie Connors, Richmond, VA

“I’ve always had trouble sleeping, but it was getting to the point where I had /maybe/ two hours of sleep a night. It wasn’t even good sleep; it was the kind where your body is asleep, but your mind is awake, so it leaves you feeling like you never slept in the first place. I found this album, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up, perfectly rested and actually tired from being asleep! This is the first time I haven’t had a nightmare in a month! This music hit me with a melatonin nightstick. But in all seriousness, thank you so much. It’s been fantastic so far, and I’ll continue to use it.”

—Will Lubarsky, Sacramento, CA

“I never, ever write reviews. But I am SO grateful for this music. I had awful insomnia for the longest time. I’ve been using the music for a month and I recommend to anyone who will listen. It just takes 10-30 mins and I’m out for the whole night. It’s been such a blessing.

—Christina Robertson, Quincy, IL.

I can’t sleep without this music. I’ve always been the kind of person who struggles falling asleep. I didn’t think anything beyond pills or CBD would help me, but boy was I wrong. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

—Carlo Dey, Vancouver, WA.
